EAHSA’s third European conference, Towards Sustainable Elderly Care, was held in Stockholm on 27-28 May 2010

This was the first conference to be run entirely under EAHSA’s own management, and was hosted by Micasa Fastigheter. The academic programme was drawn up in association with the Center for Health and Building at the Royal Institute of Technology.

150 participants from 16 different countries had the opportunity to listen to 25 speakers, all of whom were researchers and experts within two main fields: Housing & Technology and Service & Care.

The conference also included study visits to a care home, a home for the elderly and a research laboratory, as well as a reception at Stockholm City Hall. A number of selected exhibitors attended during the conference days. Most of the presentations can be found below.

It has not yet been decided where the 2012 European conference will be held. An international conference, organised by EAHSA’s sister organisation IAHSA, will take place in Washington DC on 16-19 October 2011.
